Seems like they look for the highest price they can find the book ever selling for and then charge half of that.
Also they tend to put the price stickers right over the information blurb about the book on the back. Reminded me why I hadn't been in a physical bookstore I years.
Nice n cozy wasnt overwhelmed with people n books. Loved the young adult section almost walked out with half that section
First time I had ever been to a half price books and was quite floored by the prices frankly. Went in looking for some reference books on North American plants, animals/animal tracks, and a large book of North American maps. Everybook I looked at was very expensive for a used book. I don't think I saw anything under $15, which seems very expensive for used books that I don't imagine have a huge buying audience.
The book selection here is surprisingly good, not quite that of Barnes and Noble, but the prices are much better. They also have a decent selection of movies, audio books, comics, and graphic novels.
Half Price Books is a TX institution, I've gone there for years. I am a vinyl junkie, and Half Price always has some new treasure for me.
It's also a great place to go if you need to find a gift for someone. Love it!
One of our favorite places. Always find some thing and more. Great prices and tons of cool books not just what's the newest book out or popular. I see no reason to shop at any other book store. My favorite employee is Michelle.
