We all hear these terrible stories of police brutality and abuse, and many of them are true. For this reason, I am always so quick to point out when someone is doing something right.
Understand I am writing now just as a clarity as I am continue my process of healing...
Round Rock police failed to investigate my accident on freeway where a man purposely hit me. I spoke to two Sargent's - one over patrol & the one over traffic - as well as a leutinant over patrol. They stuck with the officers preformed conclusion and refused to look at the officers body camera footage of the officer's interaction with me. The investigating officer walked up to me after taking the other driver and told me what happened without hearing my statement. I attempted to tell the officer what actually happened and that the other driver purposely hit me! However, the officer already had his simple mind made up and I was blamed for the accident. Round Rock police need to be better trained to recognize problems of mental illness and read body language. They never even questioned the other driver regarding my statement. The other driver was let off scott free after purposely hitting me! Thanks RRPD for the negative experience and fear that the other driver with severe mental illness is free to chase & hit other drivers without consequence!
I contact the 911 of round Rock in November of 2016 they blow me over twice that same date.
After seeing me do something he felt was maybe a little dangerous and pulling me over to have a talk with me to point out the error in my ways, officer J. Johnson treated me with the utmost respect. His approach, conversation, and overall demeanor throughout the entire process was professional, approachable, and, most importantly, respectable. Even if he had given me a fine for something I had never heard of I would have walked away upset that I had been fined, but happy I had dealt with a great police officer.
Few days after my contact the person that I ask help/protection from came over in my house and rape me and the guy that was working for me on my own house (twice) ... I wasn't overreacting... this should have been send to all different departments take matters as requested... I didn't even bother to contact the police anymore as what I was scared had already happen and before was just overreacting... still out of work, still doing therapy and exames to make sure I am clear!!!! Thanks Round Rock police for not being there when I needed the most!
I love the officers that I have met so far. They have all been kind and understanding!
Here's to hoping I never have to see you again officer Johnson. Stay safe out there!
One thing I think we can all agree with is how much we hate being pulled over by an officer and being talked to like dirt, whether we were guilty or doing anything wrong or not. I, for one, would rather get a ticket from someone who treats me like a human than get let off with a warning (well, depending on what it is) by someone who treats me with no respect.
Thank you (and the fire department and EMS) for coming to my grandmother's aid when she had her heart attack. She is much better
