I've used PODS twice moving kids from PA to TX and have had great experiences both times. I liked being able to pack over several days, much less stressful. PODS were dropped and picked up on schedule and the customer service staff always polite and friendly.
Moved my stuff from Pennsylvania to Texas. When I accidentally packed an item I needed before I was ready for my pod all I had to do was call them for access.
Try to use another company if possible as this branch comes up with extra charges whenever possible. We had one for "requested barricades" that we were not aware of until we got the bill. We also had an issue getting our POD open, where the door got jammed by a piece of furniture. There's no second way to open the PODS if this happens, and it didn't seem like it was the first time it had happened. It took a few days to finally get it opened. Then we pretty much got blamed for it happening with no rebate offered or anything. I don't know how that's our fault because we didn't create a storage container with a door that can get jammed by shifting furniture and no second way to open it. Overall, this local office is not very helpful (outside of one person in the dispatch office) and run by a pretty shoddy supervisor. We had good experiences with the PODS office where we moved from though; just not the Austin one.
PODS is a great way to load, move and/or store and unload your goods. All the drivers involved in dropping off the empty POD and taking away the full POD as well as the driver who dropped off the full POD and then returned a week later to pick up the empty POD were helpful, courteous and professional. Telephone customer service was responsive to questions and requests and were very helpful when I changed the pick-up dates a couple times. I have recommended them many times since I used them. Loaded with the help of a couple of neighbors. Everything arrived in mint condition. The drivers were on time and very courteous. We sold our house very quickly and our new house wasn't ready. We used there storage capabilities and they kept it in a climate controlled building (not all of them are controlled). We also used a packing service recommended by PODS to unload and place in the house. Couldn't be happier with the whole service.
