This was at 1 in the morning.
They will only treat your animal if you pay them in full and upfront, keep that in mind if you're thinking of coming here. I brought my dog here and after they gave a quote for a treatment plan of over $1000 they gave no other option than paying the full bill and they would refund us later for "whatever they didn't use." They claim that they care about your animal and don't want to cause them harm yet they won't render care unless they get money first. My dog was in "critical condition" according to the doctor but they had no problem releasing him since we could not afford the bill. I had to take the dog back home and wait to get a loan in the morning to pay for treatment. By the time I had the funds my dog had passed away. Would not recommend this place to anyone in need, money is more important than your pet's life here.
Can not say enough good things about the staff.
If there was an option for zero stars this place would be that. Sad to see all these bad reviews in the recent past and see no responses from the clinic. If you can find a different clinic, you should do that.
Had to take my baby in. She was in alot of pain. Very old kitty.

***********Added note to their response:I wish the people who gave good reviews recently would also use the name of the doctor since that would make a difference at this poorly run clinic. This way should some sap walk in for emergency care, they could specifically ask to be seen by a good vet. I stand by my review, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!! If your pet has already died, well then this place might be OK to handle the deceased and return the ashes to you. I will NEVER, EVER bring any live animal to this place and I have made it a point to tell all who will listen to STAY AWAY from this place. There are too many good places to take your pet for care that Heart of Texas should be just an image in the rear view mirror. Parmer Lane Veterinary Clinic is great! They have a wonderful caring staff, great prices. It is simply an excellent facility. Lake Austin Blvd Animal Hospital is also another clinic that I found to be VERY helpful. Dr. Spitz is very nice and caring.
The staff is amazing, caring and I could not of found a better place for my Tess to spend her last time on earth. They let me say good by to her. She put her little head in my hand, looked at me and I knew she was ready. Thank you all for being so caring.
There are no words to express the sincere appreciation our family feels towards Heart of Texas. Named appropriately, the staff and vets here have the biggest hearts in Texas. When it is time to let a four-legged family member rest in peace, the people here go above and beyond. They were fast with results, caring with decisions to be made, and accommodating to a very large family that wanted to say goodbye to the sweetest dog ever. Dr. Mays and everyone here are the best. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for taking such good care of our Piper.
So our Yorkie had a complicated pregnancy during labor and it was time for a emergency c- section. We came here first as it was the closest. Upon initial greeting they rushed Sophie back to get x-rays and verify that there was a breech pup. During that time we were explained that payment is due upon service completion and that the techs would explain our options after the films came back. It was verified there was one pup still stuck and alive and that a c-sec would be needed. They ran the operation costs and showed us the initial billing. It was estimated at 2600 dollars on the high side. My line of credit with Care credit would not cover this amount in total. I explained to them my financial situations and with recently relocating back to Austin recently after retiring from the Army funds were tight. They were under no obligation to offer aid or help in any manner but their techs called other vet offices to see if there was any way to get the cost lower or of any openings for scheduled c sections with other surgeons. After no avail, They came back and offered that the surgery would not exceed a certain price point that was drastically below the initial valuation. They verified in writing that all cost above our agreed upon amount would be expunged and covered by the company. At the end of the same day Sophie had not only been operated on, the puppy saved, and all in good health that they were all discharged to come home. I can not be more grateful for the staff and owner for allowing us to come to terms on a agreement. I understand that i'm sure every pet owner that walks through that door ask's for the same opportunity but being a business they can not afford to do that for all circumstances! I can only give you review seekers a account of my personal experience with this company. I would be there again in a heart beat should another life emergent issue arise with one of our pets! Thank you to the team there and all that you have done to ensure that no life was lost that day and now the whole family is doing great!
NOTE that the excellent reviews for Dr, Brown (no longer at this clinic) shade the final rating BUT the woman is no longer at this facility.
