The furniture itself is reasonable and typically well made. However, since I have a particularly small vehicle, I needed to use the delivery service. I understand Ikea likes to "push" customers toward self-service, but a $100 delivery charge seems just a bit over the top - particularly when it takes two weeks to get the delivery scheduled. Then I have to comment that the entire order wasn't shipped. After noting this on the delivery slip, I have written twice to Ikea with no response. I suppose the next step will be to cancel the charge on my credit card - perhaps that would gain some attention?
This is a legendary institution, living up to all its glory. If you love IKEA, you'll love this instance of it. Just be prepared for huge lines at checkout, slow lines in the cafeteria, and a general lack of store employees on the sales floor.

Selection is nice and prices are reasonable for the most part, but the checkout process takes forever. Want to buy a sandwich in the cafeteria? 10 minutes. Trying to buy furniture? 20-30 minutes easy. For whatever reason Ikeas only store in the Austin, Texas area has only two cashiers.
Had me on the line for 20 minutes just for me to ask a simple question which they didn't even have the answer to. What kind of establishment doesn't have a competent customer service department. In regard to a question dealing with the assembly manual. There was a character on it that had me confused. It was a man holding a book and I wished to know if it had an identity of any sort, but the customer service attendant couldn't even answer me this simple question. If you're going to include a character to it I think they should have an answer to something like that.
